Backpacks for Bird Watching 

Learn more about birds by checking out a bird watching backpack. Each backpack comes with two pairs of binoculars, a California bird field guide, and an information card. 

Backpacks for Hiking 

Take a hiking backpack with you on your next outdoor adventure. Each backpack includes trekking poles (adjustable from 24" to 55"), binoculars, ponchos, mosquito head nets, waterproof pouches, a microscope, and more. 

These backpacks were provided to the Library in a grant awarded by the Southern California Library Cooperative and California State Library. 

Backpacks with Parks Passes 

If you're visiting a California State Park, bring a backpack with a Parks Pass along. Each backpack includes a California State Parks pass, compass, and field guides for trees, wildflowers, and wildlife. 

You are also welcome to borrow just the Parks Pass vehicle hangtag. Learn more about the California State Parks Passes program.

Bicycle Repair Kits 

Prepare for your next biking trip by borrowing a bicycle repair kit. Strap the carry-on pouch to your bike frame so you can easily access it at any point on the trail. Each kit includes a tire pump, 15mm spanner wrench, crank remover, two tire levers, glueless patches, and a 16-in-1 multitool that includes multiple Allen wrenches, socket tools, and wrenches. 

If you need more hands-on help with your bike, come to our Drop-In Bike Clinic every third Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Professional bike mechanic Ryan Murphy will be available for advice and help with changing a tire, adjusting gears and brakes, identifying mysterious noises and more.
