Amplify is a program for teens who want to share their interests and passions with an audience. If you have a skill you’d like to teach or a topic you know a lot about, we will work with you to create a library program open to the public. Participants will not only get the opportunity to literally use your voice, but you will also gain real world experience working with the full support of librarians to bring your program to life.

Librarians work with you every step of the way to refine your idea, schedule and promote your program, create a presentation, prepare the venue and practice public speaking. Build your leadership skills and your confidence!

Fill out the Amplify application form and a librarian will get back to you to schedule an interview so we can learn more about your project and you can learn more about the process.

Our goal is to help you create a library program that you are proud of. This takes planning, preparation and teamwork. We expect participants to understand the shared values, rooted in respect, that are important to reach this goal.

• Leadership. We will be your guide and support you through the process. You will make this project your own and take the lead as much as you can.
• Learning and Growing. In this program we will learn from each other and be open to new ideas and challenges. After the final presentation, we will discuss the experience and learning process to give each other feedback, because we want to help each other improve and grow.
• Communication. We will be here to answer any questions you have, follow up and check in. You can ask for guidance and information, and everyone will strive to be timely, consistent and clear with communication.
• Dependability. Everyone can be counted on to fulfill promised tasks and meet deadlines. We will be punctual.
